David, Ben Yosef, Har-Zion, who writes under the pen name Prabhuji, is an artist, writer, painter, composer, and avadhūta mystic. Since 2011, he has chosen to retire from society and lead the life of a hermit. He spends his days in solitude, praying, studying, writing, painting, and meditating in silence and contemplation.
Although many consider him to be an enlightened being, Prabhuji does not accept the role of a religious authority that some people, for many years, have tried to give him. Prabhuji does not claim to be a preacher, guide, professor, instructor, educator, enlightener, pedagogue, evangelist, rabbi, posek halacha, healer, therapist, satsangist, leader, channeler (medium), savior, or guru. He does not try to convince anyone about anything, nor does he want to attract followers or adepts of any type.
For 15 years (1995 – 2010), Prabhuji accepted some monastic disciples who expressly requested this from him. Since 2010, he has stopped accepting new monastic disciples, followers, and devotees. Currently, he only guides the small group of disciples who have decided to stay with the master.
We kindly ask everyone to respect his privacy and not to disturb him by any means asking for interviews, visits, blessings, or initiation.
This website is not administered by Prabhuji himself but by a few of his disciples and friends who feel that their collective duty is to maintain this site in order to preserve and perpetuate Prabhuji’s legacy.
