How to get to the ashram
The Prabhuji Ashram is about a 2-1/2-hour drive north of New York City, but can take longer if traffic is heavy. The ashram is roughly 3 hours west of Boston, 3-1/2 hours north of Philadelphia, 4 hours south of Montreal, and 7 hours southeast of Toronto.

By bus, the trip is around 3 hours from NYC. The nearest airport is in Albany, about a 1-hour drive north of the ashram. Want to take the scenic train from Montreal or Toronto? We are only 17 miles west of the Amtrak train station in Hudson, NY.
By car

Please be aware that Google Map is not accurate in this region and that some GPS directions can also be problematic due to the rural geography.

From NYC: Exit the city and go north on State Thruway 87 (toll) for about 70 miles, depending on your starting location. Take Exit 20 toward Saugerties. Go through the toll then turn left at the light onto Highway 32/212. Turn right onto Highway 32 North and drive for 11 miles, veering right at the flashing amber light. Following signs to Round Top and turn left onto Heart’s Content Road. Drive for 4.6 miles. The ashram parking lot is on the left.

By bus

Trailways is the only bus that travels to Cairo, the nearest bus stop to the ashram. We will be happy to pick you up from the Cairo bus stop with a minimum 48 hours notice. Schedules are subject to change so make sure to check bus schedules before organizing your trip.

From NYC – The Trailways bus leaves the Port Authority for Cairo, via Kingston, daily at 8:30 am and 5:30 pm. They leave Cairo daily for New York City at 11 am and 4:30 pm. This schedule is subject to change, so make sure to check with them first.
From New Jersey – The Trailways bus travels from Ridgewood, NJ, to Cairo at 9 am and 6 pm most days.
From Albany – Take the Trailways bus from Albany to Cairo. Check the schedule for departure times.
From Toronto – There are about 3 Greyhound buses traveling daily from Toronto, ON, to Albany, NY. Allow enough time for the border crossing and schedule a bus that will enable a transfer to a Trailways bus going to Cairo. Both buses are stationed at the same station. -2222
From Montreal – There are several Greyhound buses traveling daily from Montreal, QC, to Albany, NY. Schedule a bus that will allow enough time for the border crossing and enable a transfer to a Trailways bus going to Cairo. Both buses use the same station.
From Boston – Take a greyhound bus to Albany, NY, and then a Trailways bus to Cairo, NY. Check their schedules.

By train

The nearest Amtrak train station is in Hudson, NY, a historic town 17 miles east of the ashram. Trains can be booked online at: Book early for the best prices. Cars can be rented from Enterprise Rent-a-car (tel. 518 828 5492), which is operated by very friendly people who conveniently offer to pick up train passengers from the station.
From NYC – Take Amtrak’s Adirondack line to Hudson, NY. There are multiple trains daily.
From Boston – There are multiple Amtrak trains daily between Boston and Hudson, NY.
From Montreal, QC – Amtrak’s Adirondack line travels from Montreal to Hudson, NY, once daily.
From Toronto, ON – Amtrak’s Maple Leaf line goes from Toronto to Hudson, NY, once daily.

By air

The Albany International Airport (ALB) is the nearest airport to the ashram. Avis, Budget, Enterprise, Hertz and National/Amamo car rental agencies are available there. Visit here ( for the bus schedule leaving the airport.
